Programs

Here are the programs that Patinage Greenfield Park offers:

Mini CanSkate – An introduction to the CanSkate program designed for new skaters aged 3 to 4 years old. Basic skating skills are taught through engaging games in a safe and age-appropriate environment.

CanSkate – CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program for children of all ages. Led by certified coaches and trained Program Assistants, it focuses on fun, participation, and basic skating skills. Whether your child wants to figure skate, play hockey, or just learn to skate with confidence, CanSkate provides the perfect foundation in a safe and energetic environment.

Development Group – By invitation only for the skaters that meet the region and club criteria for the program. The invitations are sent after the start of the season.

Group STAR 1 – Open to STAR skaters working on their Badge 6 of CanSkate, as well as those working on their STAR 1 tests. The program consists of 2 sessions per week.

Group STAR Advanced – Open to STAR skaters that have completed all STAR 1 tests (skills, freestyle & dance). The program consists of 1 group session per week and it is strongly encouraged for skaters to also have 1 private block of ice time to ensure they continue to progress. The skaters can make arrangements for private lessons with a coach if they choose and at their expense.

Stroking – Open to all STAR skaters to help with their stroking/skills: position, speed and strength.

Private STAR blocks – Ice time available to STAR skaters. Private lessons with a coach are done on this ice time, as well as individual practices. Organization of lessons is made with the skater’s coach of choice, as well as price/payments.

CanSkate for ADULTS – CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program. Led by certified coaches and trained Program Assistants, it focuses on fun, participation, and basic skating skills.

Private STAR blocks for ADULTS 18+ – Ice time available to STAR skaters 18 and over. Private lessons with a coach are done on this ice time, as well as individual practices. Organization of lessons is made with the skater’s coach of choice, as well as price/payments.
